Serve

Feeding the Spirit. Building Community. Spreading God's Grace.

When a person becomes a member of the United Methodist Church, they vow to support the church with their prayers, presence, gifts, witness, and service.

Service is the opportunity to give of one’s self in order to enrich the community. We offer several areas for members of our congregation and the community to be in service. We are always open to new partnerships! Email the church office at info@churchoneuclid.org if you have a project or ongoing work in the Ontario community that the people of First UMC could support you in!

Loaves and Fishes

Loaves and Fishes is dedicated to serving Ontario’s homeless and food insecure communities. We offer meals every month, starting with our food distribution on the 2nd Friday at 6 pm. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church generously provides meals on the 4th Friday, and we are actively seeking churches to host on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Fridays. Our aim is to create a family-like atmosphere where guests feel welcome and valued; whenever possible, we join them at the table. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in our 5 pm setup, with dinner served promptly at 6 pm. Clean-up generally wraps up by 8 pm, depending on the duration of our guests’ enjoyment of table fellowship and the inevitable dishes. We invite everyone to join us in making a difference.

When you recycle your cans and plastic bottles with us, the proceeds support the Loaves and Fishes fund, enabling us to sustain our ministry. Your contributions are greatly appreciated. Additionally, we welcome donations of egg cartons, which can all be dropped off at our church office during the week. Thank you for your support!
